Favorite Websites and Credits
Over the pass three years I've been collecting math websites. From these sites I've found amazing math games. I've linked to many of their games on this website. However I've not linked to all the games and activities available at these sites. Sometimes I haven't created links because of time. Other times I haven't linked to games because it didn't fit into the math curriculum I teach. (I use this site regular in my math/tech classes.) I thought you, my viewers, would like to check these sites out. As far as I have been able to tell, these sites are the original host or creators of all the games. I would also like to acknowledge and give credit and web traffic to some great sites. You'll find my top sites listed below. Have fun exploring all of these wonder math websites.
1. Fun 4 the Brain http://www.fun4thebrain.com/ Excellent site for elementary students to practice their basic facts. The developer has create numerous, entertaining math facts games. The games at this site are some of my students’ favorite games. She has also added some science games and English games.

2. Play Kids Games http://www.playkidsgames.com/mathGames.htm This site has games for math, the alphabet, vocabulary, memory and geography. There is also an option to create tailored games for your classroom. I have not tried this feature but it is intriguing.

3. Multiplication.com http://www.multiplication.com/index.htm This site’s design is to teach multiplication facts. There are on-line math games, lessons, teaching tips, resources and more.

4. Learning Games for Kids http://www.learninggamesforkids.com/ This site includes math games with different twists. The different twist forces the player to thinking differently while solving “basic” type information. In addition to math games other games are offered in different subject areas.

5. Cyberchase http://pbskids.org/cyberchase/games.html This website is based on the PBS series “Cyberchase.” There are numerous math or math related games at this site. There is also a parent and teacher section with lessons, activities, news and more.

6. Math Playground http://www.mathplayground.com/math_manipulatives.html Excellent site for upper elementary age students and middle school. There are math games, manipulatives, word problems, logic games, videos and much more. Students find this site captivating and challenging.

7. Hooda Math http://www.hoodamath.com/ This is more of an upper elementary and middle school math site. I have included some games with guidance at the 4th and 5th grade levels. The games require a new viewpoint in order to play successfully. In addition to games there are math movies and tutorials.

8. Novel Games http://www.novelgames.com/flashgames/?category=9&l=e This site is not strictly a math site. You can find various types of games here. Some might not be what you want your elementary aged child to play. However the math games are worth looking at. You also have the means to include direct links to the games at this site on your own website. The html codes are provided.
Age level 7 – adults
9. National Library of Virtual Manipulatives http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/vlibrary.html Designed especially for students to use. The manipulatives and activities at this site are arranged by grade levels. This site was created by the University of Utah. It is a great resource. It requires JAVA to run.
Age level 5-18
10. Mr. Nussbaum.com http://www.mrnussbaum.com/index.html Excellent site. There are various math games on this site. In addition to math games other subject matter is included on this site. Games are sorted by grade level. It is a bit difficult to navigate at times. Most games start with an instruction screen. Then you must click on Play Now to start playing the game.

11. PBS for Kids http://pbskids.org/games/math.html This site has lots of games for younger children 4-9. It is a bit difficult to navigate at times. However the link I’ve added for this site takes you directly to the math games at PBS Kids. These games are student favorites. One of the better early learning sites for children.

12. BBC – KS2 Bitesize http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks2bitesize/maths/ Games that practice various math skills. Games are organized by math subject area. There is background information for each game that can be used for lesson plans. Lesson plan links are also found at this site. There are quizzes for the games.

13. BBC – KS1 Bitesize http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks1bitesize/numeracy/ Additional games from BBC.

14. Academic Skill Builder http://www.arcademicskillbuilders.com/ Great fact review site. Integers, ratios and fractions are also reviewed on this site. There are single player and multi-player games.
Age level 7-12
15. Scholastic Computer Lab – One day activities - http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/clf/ This is great for teachers looking for a quick on day activity to do in the computer lab. All information is included for the daily lesson.

16. Crickweb http://www.crickweb.co.uk/ks1numeracy.html This site is a British site. It has lots of age appropriate math activities and online teaching tools.

18. Online Math Games http://www.free-training-tutorial.com/math-games.html You can create a list of games to go with lessons you are teaching.
